Medical Massage Therapy

Outcome-focused, doctor-recommended massage therapy for real medical conditions.

Pain & MobilitySwelling & Recovery

Medical massage therapy is a targeted, results-oriented approach prescribed or recommended by a physician to address specific medical conditions. Sessions are focused on your diagnosis or symptoms — not a general relaxation routine. Your therapist reviews your health history, coordinates with your care team when appropriate, and tracks progress over time. Medical massage is often eligible for FSA and HSA reimbursement; confirm with your plan administrator before your visit.

Who it helps

People managing chronic pain, recovering from injury, dealing with musculoskeletal conditions, or following a physician's recommendation for massage as part of a treatment plan. FSA and HSA cardholders may be able to apply flex spending benefits toward sessions.

What to expect

A thorough intake covering your health history and goals. Focused, technique-driven work on the areas your condition affects. Pressure and approach adjusted throughout. A follow-up plan based on your progress.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage Therapy

Gentle, specialized therapy to reduce swelling and support your lymphatic system.

Swelling & RecoveryCancer-Treatment Support

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) uses light, rhythmic strokes to stimulate lymph flow and reduce fluid buildup. It is commonly used after surgery, for lymphedema management, and during cancer treatment or recovery. Sessions are gentle by design — the lymphatic system responds to very light pressure.

Who it helps

People with lymphedema, post-surgical swelling, lipedema, or those in cancer treatment or recovery who need gentle, supportive care.

What to expect

A calm, unhurried session using very light, rhythmic strokes. No deep pressure. Work focused on the areas of swelling or drainage pathways. Guidance on self-care between sessions.

Oncology Massage Therapy

Safe, compassionate massage adapted for cancer patients at every stage.

Cancer-Treatment Support

Oncology massage is specifically adapted for people living with cancer — whether in active treatment, recovery, or survivorship. Techniques, pressure, positioning, and session length are all modified based on your current treatment, medications, and how you are feeling that day. Our therapists are trained to work safely with the side effects of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.

Who it helps

People in active cancer treatment, recovering from cancer surgery, managing treatment side effects, or in survivorship who want safe, adapted massage care.

What to expect

A detailed intake covering your diagnosis, treatment, and current symptoms. Gentle, adapted techniques. Positioning adjusted for comfort and safety. A session paced entirely around how you feel.

Infrared Sauna with NIR

Full-spectrum infrared sauna with near-infrared (NIR) for relaxation, recovery, and wellness.

Recovery & Wellness

Our full-spectrum infrared sauna combines mid and far infrared with near-infrared (NIR) light for a deeper, more comfortable heat experience than traditional saunas. Infrared heat penetrates tissue directly, supporting muscle relaxation, circulation, and recovery. NIR adds a photobiomodulation component that may support cellular repair and skin health.

Who it helps

People seeking muscle relaxation, post-workout recovery, stress relief, improved circulation, or a complement to their massage or wellness routine.

What to expect

A private sauna session in a clean, comfortable cabin. Temperature and session length adjusted to your preference and tolerance. Towels and water provided. Sessions typically run 30–45 minutes.

Veterans Health Massage Therapy

Compassionate, specialized massage care for those who served.

Recovery & Wellness

Veterans Health Massage Therapy is designed for the specific physical and emotional needs of military veterans. Our therapists understand the patterns of pain, tension, and injury common to service — and approach each session with the patience and respect veterans deserve. We work with VA referrals and welcome veterans at any stage of their care. Sessions can be coordinated with VA community care programs, and we are happy to discuss documentation needs with your VA care team.

Who it helps

Active duty military, veterans, and their families dealing with service-related pain, tension, PTSD-related physical symptoms, or seeking supportive wellness care. Veterans using VA community care benefits are welcome.

What to expect

A respectful, thorough intake. Techniques adapted to your specific history and comfort level. A pace and pressure that you control. Coordination with VA care teams when appropriate.

Deep Tissue Massage Therapy

Firm, targeted pressure to release deep, chronic muscle tension.

Pain & Mobility

Deep tissue massage uses slow, deliberate strokes and firm pressure to reach the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It is effective for chronic tension, postural issues, and areas of persistent tightness that lighter massage does not fully address. Sessions are focused and purposeful — not a full-body relaxation routine.

Who it helps

People with chronic muscle tension, postural strain, repetitive-use injuries, or areas of deep tightness that have not responded to lighter work.

What to expect

A targeted session focused on the areas of concern. Firm, sustained pressure with communication throughout about comfort. Some soreness in the 24–48 hours after is normal and typically followed by significant relief.

Medical Cupping Massage Therapy

Decompression therapy that lifts tissue to release tension and boost circulation.

Pain & Mobility

Medical cupping uses suction cups to create negative pressure, lifting the tissue rather than compressing it. This decompression effect releases fascial adhesions, improves circulation, and reduces muscle tension in a way that compression-based massage cannot. Cupping is often combined with other massage techniques for a more complete treatment.

Who it helps

People with deep fascial restrictions, poor circulation, chronic tension that has not responded to compression massage, or those curious about an alternative approach to muscle release.

What to expect

Cups placed on the areas of concern and moved or left stationary depending on your needs. A sensation of pulling or tightness — not pain. Temporary marks (not bruises) may appear and typically fade within a few days.

Myofascial Release Massage Therapy

Sustained, gentle pressure to release the fascia and ease chronic pain.

Pain & Mobility

Myofascial release (MFR) applies slow, sustained pressure to the fascial system — the connective tissue that surrounds and supports every muscle and organ. Unlike traditional massage, MFR holds pressure at points of restriction and waits for the tissue to release. It is particularly effective for chronic pain conditions, fibromyalgia, and postural dysfunction. Myofascial release is one of the most requested techniques at Coastal Medical Massage for clients who have not found lasting relief through other approaches.

Who it helps

People with fibromyalgia, chronic widespread pain, postural dysfunction, tension headaches, or conditions where traditional massage has not provided lasting relief. Myofascial release is also commonly used alongside medical massage for complex musculoskeletal presentations.

What to expect

Slow, deliberate holds at points of restriction. Less movement than traditional massage — the technique works through sustained contact. Sessions may feel subtle but produce significant results over time.
